Malang B.S. Bojang: The Hidden Agenda Behind the Invasion of Iraq: The Unjust War Over Iraq in 2003

Abstract: In search for answers to what is wrong with the 2003 Iraq invasion, this paper attempts to critically assess and explore the U.S invasion of Iraq. The invasion of Iraq was the most controversial and momentous foreign policy decision in recent memory. In analyzing the Iraq war from all perspectives of just war basic tenets indicate that the war was unjust and damaging. Although the Bush administration argued that Iraq possesses Weapon of Mass Destruction, coupled with Saddam support for terrorism which were found faulty and inaccurate. The just war theorists dismissed U.S preemptive war claims and the same is true in this paper. Judging by the basic tenets of the just war tradition, the findings of this paper have shown that the Iraq war does not meet any of the jus ad bellum, jus in bello, or jus post bellum and therefore its justification is invalid or null and void. Employing the just war theory, data has beencollected for this study from secondary sources.

Keywords: The Bush Administration, Iraq, just war theory, Weapon of Mass Destruction, Terrorism.

Jiří Zákravský: Sport a mezinárodní vztahy. Sportovní diplomacie jako součást zahraniční politiky [Sport and International Relations. Sports Diplomacy as a Part of Foreign Policy]

Abstract: Sportsdiplomacy, as a specific type of foreign policy, does not catch attention in Czech academic environment, which is especially true in the case of the theoretic reflection on this phenomenon. The aim of this article is to fill this gap and describe this largely ignored topic to the Czech public. I deal with the issue of sports diplomacy in general and I introduce its definition in the article as well. Furthermore, I mention a diversity of the main actors, who participate in the activities belonging to the sports diplomacy. The following part of a text is dedicated to the tools that are used by sports diplomacy to achieve its main goal, which is to establish a positive image of a state or a sub-state region in the international environment.

Keywords: sports diplomacy, sport and politics, public diplomacy, soft power, paradiplomacy

Abstract: Following article focuses on the interpretation of politically “relevant” narratives that were produced during the Liberation Festival in Pilsen in the year 2016. We argue that during this festival were produced three main discoursive lines: 1/ migration crisis, 2/ so called “Polish question”, and 3/ “ideologically” inappropriate tank. In our paper we are trying to provide interpretation of these lines mentioned above. Data analysed in our paper were created through narrative interviews and semi-participant observation according to Goffman´s dramaturgical approach.

Abstract: This article describes the Czech branch of the French transnational organization Génération Identitaire. The text focuses on the far-right group Generace identity and analyses three ideological pillars in relation to liberal democracy, macro-economy and micro-economy and the conception of a nation. The article is based on the analysis of printed and archive material, monitoring websites, interviews with activists, and participation in demonstrations, blockades and social events of Generace identity in the period between April 20th, 2015 and May 1st, 2016. The final section attempts to uncover the informal structure of the group and points out the discrepancy between its public presentation and that for the radical activist core.
